Released several recordings under Huey's publishing company (Crazy Cajun Records) . Rare boxing-style poster from the Club de Lisa (photo taken from http://www.daveallenblues.com/photos-memorabilia.html )
Some early songs also exist as 45's at "Tear Drop" and "Tribe Records" (R&B & Soul style).

As JOSEPH released the amazing "Stoned Age Man" Lp
back in 1970 on Scepter and this is his first Lp.
Long was a very, very gifted guitarist!
At 1978 Crazy Cajun Records released two lp's as Joey Long.
You must listen these records 2 times , as diferent music styles
exist together without any connection between the songs. From early rock & roll songs (like "Treasure Of Your Love","You Can't Give Back The Love") among blues rock outfits and some true "JOSEPH"style tracks as "Jezabell Gables", "Funky Junky Woman", "Cajun Country" etc.
All songs (at both lp's) has something to tell us . Attention ...these aren't country lp's !!

Stoned Age Man is just mind blowing. Freaking epic. I was just out of this world when I first heard it. Support real talent! Long live Joseph!
ReplyDelete- How come nobody seems to know that in the world of rockabilly it's very well known that joey long was the great guitar player in all Sonny Fisher & the rocking boys and there were 3 Starday label 45's in -55 and 1 in -56 all played by Joey Long and these are the real gems and rivalled elvis, scotty and bills. Just check these out and the manic lead guitar.- kingfinn.
ReplyDeleteI had tried finding his son earl dean longoria for 5 years, my mom had passed away a few mths before him and even though they weren't together anymore they remained good friends... I didn't know his dad but I just listened to some of his stuff and earl use to sing his dads songs to me when I was a young girl 8, 9 years old, and I never saw him go anywhere without his guitar atleast in the back seat. RIP earl dean longoria
